FAQ

Steel doors & windows — frequently asked questions

01

Buying

Are steel doors better than wooden doors?

For most Kerala homes, yes. Steel doors are termite-proof, fire-resistant, monsoon-proof and more secure, and they cost less than solid teak.

What does a steel door cost?

It depends on size, thickness (70 or 90 mm) and finish. Send your opening size on WhatsApp for an exact price.

Do the prices include the frame and lock?

Yes. Frame, multi-point lock, handle and hinges are included.

Do you sell wholesale?

Yes. CRS is a wholesale steel door distributor for South Kerala. Dealers and builders can call or WhatsApp us for bulk pricing.

02

Installation

When should I install a steel door?

Decide while planning, and install after plastering and flooring are finished.

What wall opening should I leave?

About 20 mm wider and 50 mm taller than the door. For example, a 1,080 × 2,050 mm door needs a 1,100 × 2,100 mm opening. Our team confirms on site.

Who installs the door?

Our trained installation team. We schedule a date that suits you.

How long does delivery take?

Popular sizes are in stock in Kochi. Delivery time for special orders depends on the model and your location — we confirm it when you order.

03

Durability and care

Will a steel door rust?

No. It is galvanised, primed and powder-coated.

Is a steel door safe in lightning?

Yes. In a building with proper earthing, a steel door is not a main path for current.

How do I clean it?

Wipe with a soft damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and scrubbers.

Can I repaint it later?

Yes. A fresh coat refreshes the look and adds protection.
